birthday day of birth

hello everybody!
yes it is my birthday, as the Blur band said, 'it's my birthday, no-one here day' which is very apt today as i sit alone in the library...

i typed my birthday into google (of course, i am bored) and my 'birth report' appeared, i was hesitant to look thinking it may be one of those, 'when will i die?' things. Especially as I got electrocuted last night by a wire chewed through by the rabbits, and said to simon, 'what if i die?' to which his response was very sweetly 'then we'll bury you.' which was practical to the point of mental I feel. But i deserved it.
ANYWAY. Apparently my fortune cookie reads:
"Your talents will be recognized and suitably rewarded."
Which i think will happen when i am dead cause it sure ain't happenin anytime soon, I say this getting on with my daily duties of filling the photocopier and shredding and occassionally changing the water on the water cooler, phew, my large brain is overheating.

my birth report is excellent and perfectly apt i feel. My LIFE PATH (??) is 6. sounds pretty simple to me. it means i am:

the ultimate nurturer, and a beacon for truth, justice, righteousness, and domesticity.

definitely true, i love carrying out justice and shining my light of truth into the dark corners of life.

You are idealistic and must feel useful to be happy. The main contribution you make is that of advice, service, and ever present support. You are a humanitarian of the first order. It is your role to serve others

oh please, stop it, you're embarrassing me!

You are very human and realistic about life, and you feel that the most important thing in your life is the home, the family and the friends

leadership by example and assumption of responsibility, thus, it is your obligation to pick up the burden and always be ready to help you are one who will willingly carry far more than your fair share of any load, and you are always there when needed
yes, that is why i am always the most angry, now you see, now you learn!

A a caretaker type, you are apt to attract partners who are somewhat weaker and more needy than yourself; someone you can care for and protect. But there is a tendency for you to become dominating and controlling.

wait a minute, i wouldn't go that far...I call it KIND control :)

It's likely you feel compelled to function with strength and compassion. You are a sympathetic and kind person, generous with personal and material resources. Wisdom, balance, and understanding are the cornerstones of your life, and these define your approach to life in general. Your extraordinary wisdom and the ability to understand the problems of others is apt to commence from an early age. This allows you to easily span the generation gap and assume an important role in life early on
yup. extraordinary wisdom. that's me. wow, my wiseness is literally extraordinary!!

You may have a tendency to become overwhelmed by responsibilities and a slave to others, especially members of you own family or close friends. It's easy for you to fall into a pattern of being too critical of others; you also have a tendency to become too hard on yourself.
yes, i am too hard on myself. critical of others? as if...hmmmmmmm ;)

produce tendencies for you to engage in exaggeration, over-expansiveness, and self-righteousness. Modesty and humility may not flow easily. Imposing one's views in an interfering or meddling way must be an issue of concern.

I have literally never exaggerated in my life, this is literally the stupidest thing i have ever read, I am literally so angry i have never been this angry, but today i saw a magpie that was actually looking at me, and it was literally bigger than a cat.
as for meddling... i couldn't possibly comment on my tendency to turn off people's fridges at parties...

The natural burdens of this number are heavy, and on rare occasions, responsibility is abdicated by persons with this Life Path 6. This rejection of responsibility will make you feel very guilty and uneasy, and it will have very damaging effects upon your relationships with others.

oh, phew, that explains that then, why my life is a mash up i mean! at last!

Here's the site:
http://www.paulsadowski.org/BirthData.asp
You are most compatible with those with the Life Path numbers 3, 6 & 9.

You should get along well with those with the Life Path numbers 2, 4, 8, 11 & 22.

You are least compatible with those with the Life Path numbers 1, 5 & 7.

tell me and we can decide whether to never see each other again. chances are i am probably dominating and controlling you by now whilst carrying your burdens but criticizing you at the same time. sound familiar?

Your age is the equivalent of a dog that is 4.14559686888454 years old.
I genuinely found that interesting! I want to meet a dog that age and look it up and down.

This is nice to know too, my lucky tree is Lime but that means:
many talents but not tenacious enough to make them blossom, often wailing and complaining

FOR FUCK'S SAKE!!! why did i look at this?! too close to the bone that one. waaaay too close...
i was born under a waxing moon which i like, it sounds like a country and western song about someone leaving someone under a waking moon. i am going to write that song, don't steal my idea. I will put my wailing to good use.
GOD now it's telling me what my name means, my lucky number was 5 under my birthdate, now it's 9, my name is a flower apparently? that is interesting. although in German it's representative of horse, why have they always got to trample out the beauty?
my 'soul urge' number is 1, duh!
and my 'inner dream' number 8 means i want business success, like, in the world of business (i don't).
I am pleased to see that Scott Baio shares the same birthday as me, I am pretty bloody shocked to see that he was born in 1961 so he is 50!

Nick Cave also has my birthday and Andrea Bocelli. Of course, my nemesis Billie Piper has the same date and day as me so she continues to be my parallel life person...

A reminder just went on my phone and I got up and looked at it wearliy, it was an alarm on my calendar saying 'birthday' am I fucking stupid or what? when the hell did i set that?!

So now i must leave you and continue to follow life path 6. see you in the neighbouring life path or one furhter along, Maybe it's like in the 100m, the closer you are to the middle the more advantage you get on the bends...?
i think lane six is the last one on the outside?

riots schmiots

Shit. I just watched that toilet Starkey on newsnight talking about the rivers of blood speech and how it was coming true. wow. we always laugh at what a massive tory he is on Question Time and how much he looks like a character from wind in the willows, but a bastard one.
god i just looked at his biog, his partner is called James Brown! I can't believe he grew up dirt poor and he has such reactionary views to working class people now, he hates women i can see, which comes as no surprise at all. what a dick.
I STARTED THAT BLOG During the riots....before i went on holiday (seems a million years ago)
it seems apt because today i was listening to a comedy programme and they were pointing out the hypocrisy of the Tories chattings about the riots and the 'feral youth' and so on, when BoJO the MAYOR of fucking London and David 'call me dave' cameron were in the Bullingdon club!!!!!!!

whose requirement is that members are rich enough that they can fulfill:
the need to pay for the uniform, dinners and damages

described by a very sympathetic Oxford man as being mischievous, destructive and self-indulgent

other facts:
Membership elections are held twice a year, when successful new members are visited in their rooms, which are then 'trashed' as a symbol of their election.

The Club's modus operandi has often been to book a private dining room under an assumed name, as most restaurateurs are wary of the Club's reputation for causing considerable drunken damage during the course of dinner.

Oh, and what's this? a statement FROM BoJo that broom-waving nob:
I don't think an evening would have ended without a restaurant being trashed and being paid for in full, very often in cash. [...] A night in the cells would be regarded as being par for a Buller man and so would debagging anyone who really attracted the irritation of the Buller men.

debagging, by the way, for anyone that didn't go to school in a castle, is pulling someone's trousers and pants down, OOHH naughty!!
even in the early days a report that:
on 12 May 1894 and again on 20 February 1927,after dinner, Bullingdon members smashed almost all the glass of the lights and 468 windows in Peckwater Quad of Christ Church, along with the blinds and doors of the building.

The Bojo cameron lot are even rumoured to have paid for these restaurants by just chucking a wad of money through a smashed up window.

But that in no way is as bad as what rioters did.
They took stuff, they didn't even pay for it. It would have been okay if they'd just smashed the fuck out of the buildings, thrown a load of money in and then returned to their pathway direct to the seat of power.
Smashing stuff up in order to actually nick stuff is unforgivable: smashing stuff up JUST because you can afford to, and because you find normal people who need to work in order to survive disgusting,  is cheeky and mischevious!
4 years in prison for inciting a riot that never even happened. so basically 4 years for writing something on the internet that no-one paid any attention to. That seems fair when compared to causing thousands of pounds worth of damage then running off into the night in a 5 grand suit giggling and going to bed with nothing to worry about whilst a business loses thousands of pounds, no skin of your rosy nose as you tuck yourself up in your lovely Oxford dorm.

the fact that people elected these rioting scumbags is vomit-enducing to me. Who voted for them? Who didn't realise that they have total and utter contempt and disgust for people who aren't like them? you fucking idiots, you've been had alright! The got you good!!They don't know anything about life in the sense that you do, they never will, and they don't want to-why would they? If you had been one of them you would have gotten a criminal record for the stuff they did at uni, then ended up fucked, not in government. there are 2 streams and you are in the shitstream, they are on a yacht cruising past you trying not to look down and notice you staring up through all the shit because it makes them feel queasy, like if somoene homeless with no legs asks you for money and you don't have any.
Imagine never having had to worry about money once in your life. It is impossible. Money is the main, overriding factor of daily existence, worrying about it. working out how to keep people off your back, spreading it out a bit, worrying about it more, constantly in fact. Well they have never had to worry about money. they are ali0ns.

in more exciting news, i am bidding on a folding bike, i'd better bloody win it.
can't wait for 'Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy'
my rabbit has turned into Sonic the hedgehog, hair wise.
I had a 5 hour 'nap' on Sunday and could have gone for more.
off to Newcastle to start my MA/MSc on Thursday, pretty mental. I will be BA BA MA.

lllaaaaaaaaaaaaaaatttttterrrrrrrrsasssssssssssss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

going summer mad

Yes,
the rumour is true. I seem to be going mad.
My dreams have become more exhausting than ever, the worst part being that they are endlessly trawling through past memories and experiences, featuring people who I don't see any more, or don't see enough, featuring holidays and getting drunk and mainly me as a younger person, the person I was maybe 5 years ago? Which is the person that I am still scared of being, but also the person that I am drawn to and dwell on. I know now that I have a very self-destructive streak, it's not something I ever dared think about when I was younger but if things get hard my first instinct is always to get drunk and/ or to run away, my first thoughts are always self-loathing.
I don't know why I think about this period of my life so much, it was the worst time of my life, I can say that objectively. I had no idea what I was doing, I was behaving incredibly self-destructively with no regard at all for myself or for my mental state. I think it is that that I find so attractive sometimes, I feel now like I am settled, like any sort of wild behaviour is behind me, I sometimes miss the drama of it and also I miss the fact that when you are doing awful stuff and people are being shitty to you, you have an excuse all the time to behave however you like. Feeling depressed can be liberating because you stop caring about how people think towards you and you stop caring about how you behave and what the consequences might be.

5 years ago I was unhappy, I was unhappy non stop for 2 years. Well, seriously depressed. I slept awfully. I ate rarely, I drank a lot, i behaved recklessly in every way. I felt lonely. I stopped feeling the comfort of my family, the thing that had always cushioned me. I stopped wearing a seatbelt, I didn't care what happened to me. I probably pushed people away, I certainly had less interest in other people. Except the ones who I knew would be cruel to me of course!

My friend is getting married tomorrow, 2 more are engaged and now my oldest best friend Joe is engaged too. I expect that is what has brought on this backward looking. I am not engaged, nor do I have children, both of which I wanted by now. I have a low-level job. I commute 2 hours a day, which is something i never wanted. I am 2 dress sizes larger than 5 years ago, probably 3 really. I still suffer from occasional depression but that will always be there. I still have anxiety, right now I can't breathe well and my legs never stop tapping! I don't exercise enough, I don't feel like I have the time.

The thing is, I love reading and I read a lot, I have really re-discovered how much that can affect your life. I love going to RSPB places with simon and looking through binoculars trying to spot a puffin. I love the fact that I have made friends in Wakey, the relaxing kind of friend who doesn't want anything from you except to chat and laugh,  no games. I know I am calmer now. I know that that phase of my life was bad, I think of that person and I feel really sorry for her, getting battered by everything. I am doing an MA I am even excited about the prospect of becoming a librarian, I could work in an history library! or a classics library, I could actually have a career-!
I AM still drawing, and although I am not famous (yet) I still do it, that is the point. I work hard at my mental health as well, I know how hard it was to climb out of being miserable and lost and I know how strong I must have been to do it so I won't risk it again, not on anyone.

So that's that. I felt shit this morning. Now i feel better, because things ARE better and they are getting better. So there you go. You thought I was incapable of being positive.

On another note, Marie and Frida are well and looking forward to their stay in the Barnsley Bunny hotel. I have requested carpet instead of sawdust floor and curtain for privacy! I am SO excited about france, i dreamed last night everyone dropped out. I can't believe we are actually going on holiday!!!! Not to downgrade our holiday last year to my grandma's who I love, but my uncle is living there now and let's just say, that ain't so relaxed...............very worried about Grandpa who is in a bloody southern cross care home. hoping desperately things won't change because it is actually a good one.
reading really interesting book of inpatients at Bedlam, just case notes, they all seem to have the same thing, the men all have delusions of grandeur. I think they all have syphilis...there's a lot of removing of clothes and parading around as well...men never change do they?

off to cambridge tonight, Helen's wedding tomorrow I am very excited and think I will cry a lot. wearing a dress of grandma's slightly adjusted for my ampler bosom. mostly looking forward to a relaxing fri night and pizza party with mum and dad.

bye for now!

ey up june

Hi crew. sorry about the blog disappearing for so long. i seem to have a kind of blog-block where i can't bear TO write it even though mental stuff continues to happen to me on a daily basis.

I dreamed i was at school last week which set the alarm bells ringing that i might be more anxious than usual (by the way i hope you don't mind me never capitalizing my 'I's i just really feel that life is too short for such things so, you know, get over it) anyway, when i dreamt last night that i was SITTING A MATHS EXAM i realised this morning that things must be seriously wrong in my brains.... i even had a fight with the teacher DURING the exam cause she was helping everyone answer their questions and i was utterly outraged cause i was also crap at maths but unable to get help. I only remember saying 'i can't believe you're shouting it's so unprofessional!!' to her-!!!!!!! what a twat! I did, of course, have a few screaming arguments with teachers at school. Two teachers in particular, i had a proper proper fall out with, arguing how you'd argue at your worst with your parents, both shouting. blimey. Some of my teachers were seriously shit teachers. it's hard to take advice from someone who's intelligence you are genuinely questioning, especially if you're a precocious shit like i was. some of them i feel sad about. they got a shit deal of us and the school. Unfortunately we did invent seriously funny games, games that i would still find really funny now!

anyway. The math's exam dream left me understandably shaken today. Especially as the people in it were really in my GCSE math's class. James, you were there, i knew you'd do well even though you never worked, like in Biology A-level... It was intercut with a dream that i was at a rich girl's house at Christmas time and we were planning on a night out but it was already 4:30 am so i was starting to lose interest... she was off to rent a house in a really rich area of town and her mum was paying. I felt like a right scumbag around her. there were loads of cotton wool snowmen everywhere that i threw in the bin then had to remove and meticulously arrange again...

anyway sorry i know other people's dreams are a real arse-ache, unfortunately my dreams are so long and vivid and fucking exhausting every night that they distract me all day.
the math's exam as well is so unlike me, it's such a classic that i am sure it must tell me something.

I was very upset by events on Springwatch last night. I realised in one acute moment how totally out of touch i am with the real world, there was a story of a little bird who was brooding her chicks, you can watch it on a little camera in the nesting box. Tuesday the mum bird was being a bit mad and disappearing for ages so the chicks were getting cold, then she was trying to feed them but as they were cold they couldn't open their gobs really wide like chicks are meant to. One died and one was weak, the other seemed okay. when they returned to it last night i was just so so totally and utterly convinced that it would all work out okay, because it was on television! because there's always a last minute reprieve, or the camera man would intervene and warm the birds in his pocket or the mum would suddenly sort-it out.

It just did not occur to me that it was just trundle on as it was and inevitably the chicks would all die and the mum would be confused and it would be as bad as could be and yet, of course, that's exactly what happened.
I was pretty upset, i mean, why would telly show me that? why the hell wasn't there a happy ending? why didn't they intervene? Simon says cause it is nature, but there's nothing natural about everyone in the country watching it on a box so i think intervene. things always die if they're left alone so the whole point of you seeing it is you can help. yes. that is what i think. I am very immature when it comes to animals, i find their suffering literally unbearable, when i see little lambs or sheep or anything and i know why they're there i just want to collapse and die...

Talking of animals, Frida and Marie are booked into the Bunny hotel for our stay in France, they will be dropped off in Barnsley and stay in a hutch for the 2 weeks with the best bunny care available, we went and looked at the place and it's lovely, a purpose-built bunny cottage!!

let's see. not much else is new, the usual saga at Armley pool the lanes were removed yesterday and it was utter chaos, i was kicked in the stomach and caressed on the leg, i had to to a caricature-outrage look the whole time and was pretty close to, you know, saying something, although of course i didn't! I just stomped back to the 'changing village' in disgust 15 minutes before my allotted swim was up.

anyways, that's me. more soon!

what's new?ow do.

hey hey it's me blog fans, been ages again i know. i can't will myself to write most of the time.

So what's new? hhmmm uh huh, yup, interesting.
now me.
I am on a diet, kind of, as in i am going to be less greedy, i have gone in a bit at the deep end and made a lunch which i am sure will have me eating my oval rubber later on in the studio, but i truly feel compacted with fat like a Scottish Lawn sausage so i am finally going to swim and run about a bit, the myriad of things that come from putting on weight are driving me mental such as having so discernable jaw so i feel like the Radish God off 'spirited away' (although i also often feel like the big head witch too, oh, and her fat baby too...hmm)
also when i am walking i feel often as if i have vast weights attached to me (i mean technically, i do, my thighs) i also hate having this vast cumbersome chest that i never used to have and prevents you from ever feeling slender, i know how my granny has always felt now.

SO i am taking action blog friends, i have a Dr Karg. crispbread and a yoghurt, i am off to the swimming pool, which is as much for my back as it is for my thighs, I have also registered for pilates for back pain so i am becoming quite, well, you know, whatever.

what else is new??
i have been snapping up bargains, i am currently wearing some 'Next' shoes that cost me £2 from the shop in wakey called freddies that sells stuff from proper shops for nowt, i have also discovered shoe zone but immediately discovered why their shoes are so cheap...
me and olivia spent a lost weekend watching the only way is essex, Towie, to those in the know, and have discovered the genius that is Joey Essex, tiny trousered club promoter who is so stupid that you actually envy him cause everything is amazing to him, he's like a man-child.
it is dangerour to watch though as i seriously want botox now, really seriously, and i would def get other stuff if i had money. so better not watch it any more...

god healthy food is crunchy, i've nearly crunched my gums off!

spent the royal wedding in dorset with grandma, then had a wee picnic at Cerne Abbas in my grandpa's care home which was a nice way to do it i feel, royal wedding overkill has now swiftly been replaced by osama bin laden overkill (literally) and the usual wooping and screaming american's devoid of any sense of consequence or hypocrisy, it all makes me very unsettled and unhappy.

you'll all be pleased to hear that the bunnies are mad as ever and hopping like crazy although that may be because simon trod on frida's foot yesterday...census ends on friday so i will be freed of my evening obligations and able to get back into the studio. Bloody voting tomorrow and still can't decide which way to go.

most importantly, my sister lalage sat on a cat in a tea room on sunday, thinking it was a cushion.
that is the greatest thing that has happened all year.
speak soon blog faces.

february-the shittest month? contender?

Oh february, you have one thing going for you, you are suprisingly short, so payday comes around faster...
the weather is mad in february and every winter seems longer each year...my life is like a big winter oh shut your face rose.

so actually things have been looking up a bit, my contract was extended for another year which i have been dreading not happening. i have applied for an MA which is probably going to be funded too, pretty nice.
my bunnies are quite quiet actually thanks, but nice of you to ask. they are shedding which makes them withdraw somewhat but didn't stop one of them (i have my suspicions who) shitting 1.5 metres up the wall, i didn't know whether to be angry or to give them a round of applause! as it was i was so stunned that i just laughed in admiration.

off to cambridge later, haven't been since xmas, got a hosp appt and then off to see grandma. Uncle tim is living there too at the mo which is going to be slightly mental! however i intend to run across the hills and try and run some tit fat off that dog of grandmas, you know, the one who sings when you play the accordian, fuck mumford and sons and their london folk music, Goldie the dog sings haunting ballads when given the chance, she's suffered alright and her music shows that. although you wouldn't know it now by her grinning face and 10 big tits.

anyway, enough about a dog's tits.

i was trying to clean some of the creeping black mould off my window earlier in the week and it suddenly started to rain REALLY hard, like in a film hard, then that turned to hail, there was a boy walking back from school in the passage beneath and he had his arms outstretched and was nodding his head forwards and backwards and shouting something as if to say 'come ooooonn' he was laughing too, he looked up and saw me and we both laughed, at the hail and at me seeing him and at him getting soaked but not caring, enjoying it, it was pretty sweet.

there's probably a novel in that. 'The creeping mould and the laughing simpleton' or something.
anyway, iam OFF. got a week off woo hoo, having my 3rd wisdom out in March by LOCAL anaesthetic i can't believe i tried to be a hero with that?! what a fool! it's going to be AWFUL!
laters pets
pS how much are you LOVING berlusconi going on trial? he DEF won't get sentenced but that doesn't mean we can't dream!!!

people+journey=bastard life

the annoyance at people on the bus/train/ at the station continues.
i have realised you can divide public transport people into a few simple categories and sub-categories:

1. the socially unaware-

a.people who believe that their journey is more important than anyone elses.
     likely characteristics of this are:
talking loudly on a phone, putting their newspaper/briefcase on the seat next to them or just sitting in the aisle and leaving the other seat empty,  pushing you out of the way or walking fast and hard and cutting you up really badly-this is especially common at the ticket barrier, fighting with staff if the train is delayed.

b. clueless people-
   likely character traits:
Old, teenage, like to stop at the top of a flight of stairs to count their tickets, can't operate the ticket barrier and force a large queue to build (where you are likely to meet character a) stand across the escalator so no one can get past, walk down the stairs very slowly with a dog/bag/ teenagers in a gang ( i have missed a train before just cause of the stair slowness) ask for information at the desk but don't understand the answer, teenagers gang about with lots of mcdonalds bags, usually drinking milkshakes.
On the bus they are likely to ask for complex directions or have lots of trouble finding their bus pass/ change and cause the bus to stop for minutes at a time.

2. the socially aware-

a. Fighters
   Likely characteristics:
swear loudly and mutter about anything to do with the train or the bus driver ie 'where the fuck is he going?' they absolutely DON'T want a response to their outbursts, they just want to make sure you can hear them and be more upset than you are. especially common on buses (where yesterday i saw a man confront a driver for changing the ticket roll whilst at a red light, he took a photo of the man and said 'you are putting these people's lives in danger' then when he got off continued arguing and said 'i'll kill you' which made him lose the moral high ground  that he was going for, it lasted in all about 3 minutes and was unbearably cringemaking to watch) these people may behave badly, ie smoke, argue into their phone, in order to prompt an argument with another person on the bus/train.

b. Chatters.
   Likely characteristics:
male. nearly always men. middle aged, dressed strangely, often with a musty smell, these people want to engage in some banter (led by them) well, they want to talk AT someone as they think that they are wasted and have a lot of stuff to impart on the public seated around them. This usually takes the form of them saying something in response to someone else who is NOT talking to them, when they join in, or else they will talk about weather/delay, but quickly turn it round to them/ where they're from/ what they do/ the old days. you normally feel sorry for them but really want them to shut up, there's normally an element of sexism/racism in their conversation, normally directed at the person nearest them. No amount of ignoring will abate it.

c. Should-know-betters.
   Likey characteristics:
Seemingly normal looking women or men, aged 25-45, these people are average people on the street who betray casual bastardly behaviour, if confronted would probably crumble, but may lash out so gauge it well. These are the people who board the empty bus and immediately sit in the disabled seat, staring at the floor or their metro when someone who needs it gets on. they also sit red faced and burning with guilty but righteous silence on the train in their seat while pregnant women/older people stand pressed next to them staring down at them. They never offer to help elderly people off the train, even if they have a huge bag, or ladies with prams even if you give them a death stare and do it yourself.
They are a mystery to all people who were raised well. Basically the kind of people who would find a tenner on the bus, suspect the old lady getting off dropped it, but decide to keep it and tell themselves it is okay.

d. normil
there are normil people who do their best on the train and bus, i never see any, but i know i am one and that most of the people i know are,ok i do see them now and again and i always feel warmth towards them. Even us normils are prone to the odd mutter but mine is always directed at a passenger not the driver.

Final bonus category:
Posh people
-just can't do public transport, their presence in the carridge is distracting and they are likely to do some of the above but mostly their voices drive you mad and they are always on the phone. they also always manage to wangle 2 seats and usually eat something very healthy that looks rank. you end up listening to their myriad of conversations all the way.

laters potaters, i am off to do my daily bus then train journey home, wish  me luck :)
ps. the trains are FUCKING expensive and genuinely get shitter day by day so we should be angry about that! my train is on time perhaps 1 day a week but often none, and is delayed by more than 10 minutes 2 or 3 times a week.

acceptance of the facts.

I had an ex boyfriend who used to call  me by the name of a cartoon character ( a shit cartoon character i might add, one that everyone hates) much to my annoyance, then after going out with Simon for quite a short time he also sprung upon this nickname quite by chance, i have never mentioned it of course, then last night someone i work with suddenly said, haha you remind me of ..... and said the name of this bloody cartoon character!! I almost fainted. I have now had to accept that I am the human incarnation of this cartoon character. There is something that I can't see but it must be there.
It's a hard thing for a 28 year old woman to finally accept that the sum total of their life's efforts, including those made to buy nice clothes, look pretty, and further themselves intelectually as much as is possible,  have results in a resemblance most closely associated with a highly unpopular cartoon dog, nephew of a scared dog, characterised by a tiny stature and  a reckless desire to scrap with people and named after this particluar characteristic.
Other people I have been told I look like are:
Tina O Brian from Coronation ST I got this  a LOT when I was at Leeds Uni and working at the Spread Eagle, I was quite blonde then and obviously a lot thinner!!  I didn't know who she was then but i still don't see it at all.

I also got Lucy Speed off Eastenders which I really don't see, I got that 2 or 3 times and I actually was slightly annoyed about that at the time as she looked loads older than me then and had thin lips.

Angela Lansbury is who one of those 'who do you look like' internet things told me i looked like a few years ago. I was LOVING that though!!! :)

I think I look like Ponyo, at least, I think of myself as being like Ponyo. She's on the left :)

Someone once went off on one for ages about how I was EXACTLY Karen from Will and Grace, you know the total lush? who's in her mid-40's? with the squealing voice? who tells everyone what to do all the time? and lives on another planet? and is a magnet for camp gay men?? needless to say i was not impressed.

Simon also calls me Orm, from Orm and cheep. I always thought this was a reference to my scattiness but then when I saw Orm I realised the resemblence was too uncanny for it to be a coincidence...I think you will agree.....

tv is good for you

hey hey january is a time to turn over a new leaf and all that so me and rowey have done just that in our watching of amazing TV programmes on the new unbelievably sweet big telly. I will give yuo a run down of these delights...

my new daily watch goes by the name of 'peak season' we stumbled upon it by mistake and laughed all the way through, now however i must watch it every day. I think i have been looking for something to replace the 'Neighbours' shaped hole in my life for ages, well, since i stopped watching neighbours anyway- it's funny about neighbours, for about 15 years of my life the day was always divided by  Neighbours, it was divided into before and after neighbours, you would watch it twice in the holidays or  when you were sick, and the benchmark was always to get back in time for neighbours. then it just moved channel and all stopped, i mean it was getting a lot crapper but you know, it's Neighbours, it's sacred!

ANYWAY Peak Season, here's the rundown:

it's one of those 1/2 reality programmes like the Hills which I have never understood and still don't really but i think the premise is that is IS reality, but not in the sense that the meetings/ dinners etc are all staged and filmed and probably the production crew interfere quite a lot. It is in Whistler and follows people living around the ski slopes although they all only snowboard natch eh? they are such a gaggle of idiots it is actually breathtaking, it's kind of like watching a group of spoilt teenagers who look a lot older and more haggard than they probably are, plus they dress in skater stuff which looks like it's loads too big for them so they literally look like children. Their names come up every time they appear, although the boys are all named according to who they have been out with so, Dre 'amanda's ex' and so on.
Basically what happens is that; they go out and get pissed and one of the sets of ex's with have a fight, or else some girls will have a fight. Other than that they talk about their careers which are all working in shops as it is a ski resort and not the stock exchange, but even then, they really only ever ever talk about boys/ girls depending on if they are boys/ girls.that is literally IT. For example, this week, all the girls and boys went clubbing and one of the girls got pisssed and folllowed her ex hitting him, she also bit him on the arm. one girl got fired and decided to set up a promotions company, then that was it, she HAD a promotions company, just cause she said she had one...one of the boys is even uglier than the others, he stood in the gym with one of the other boys looking at his muscles going 'i wish i had a mirror like this at home, don't you love watching your muscles?' so that's the long and the short of it. get used to it. OH and one couple is Australian and the boy autralian is the biggest bastard of all and keeps wandering off and abandoning his girlfriend everywhere, she's going home in disgust. really australian's should know better, he's embarrassing his country hanging out with these Canadians.

Me and simon enjoyed an episode of 'sun, sea and a&e' late last saturday night, we were treated to a girl who had sprained both her ankles having a dance-off with someone! A girl who had woken up naked at the bottom of a flight of stairs and thought it was the past, she was kindly left on a stretcher byt the spanish dr's for about 48hrs none of the staff at the hospital could conceal their contempt for the British. Best of all was a girl who had punched herself in the throat dancing to some pumping house (or whatever the kids call it) !! she was SUCH an arse!! there was nothing wrong with her at all! she did say at one point that she went to a&e  'about 5 times a year' so there you go.

(very) Similar in theme is another programme that we caught, namely 'sun, sea, and suspicious parents' as with the previous you can probably guess the main idea here, basically the camera follows 2 people going on holiday away from home for the first time and their suspicious parents creep all over the resort following them and hiding in cupboards while they go on the pull and so on. some of the have been extremely creepy to say the least, one lad's mum was so so reluctant to let him go in any way it was terrifying, they finally appeared while her son was having a naked lapdance and the mum's stupid grinning head reared up next to the lady's tits! If that isn't going to confuse his sexual feelings for the rest of his life then nothing is!

still off the booze at the moment, although that will change this weekend in Newcastle as the fine wines and champagne will be flowing for Liv's birthday, got loads of treats lined up and i do not intend to hold back!
just got to head home and try to sew this f-ing dress that i foolishly decided to make like a prize tit.

usual january SHIT-fest

I am being followed...by a cat. always in the same place. i do talk to it, so maybe it thinks it's okay, i started with things like "eeeuurgh" and "piss off cat/catface" but it has developed now into a more acccepting "so i suppose we're friends now?" . It made me realise much as i despise cats and their spittle encrusted hair and evil snake eyes, i would still look after one if it was getting picked on... although not touch it or anything. I am slightly scarred for life by memories of being around cats and how totally sick they make me and how people always always think that their cat WON'T make you ill cause they don't let it on the sofa/ they aired the room/ it hardly ever comes in here or whatever but it never makes a difference and makes you just as ill wherever it is. plus you always feel so rude, like you're overexaggerating, when you point out you can't handle it's effect on your lungs, i remember so many sleepovers at my best friends house when i was little where my lungs were just ringing like a bell, i never made it past about 11 before my dad had to get me, i also remember a sleepover in school where i looked in from outside cause i'd had to leave and the host told me off for breathing on the window!  having said that, next time i stayed there the cat left our tent just as i went in which made me even more suspicious...it was def following me. at my friend kathryn's house i twice slept with my arms on the window sill and head out of the window sitting on the floor. it's really annoying actually. Rabbits are very low allergy causing pets.lovely rabbits. i LOVE my rabbits yes, yes i do. they follow you too, but you have to pretend you aren't looking. they do have a habit of running between your legs so very occassionally one of them gets scooped up on my foot and hurled down the hall by mistake. they don't seem to mind.

people on the other hand are causing me much concern at the moment.
they are depressing, have you ever noticed? and infuriating.

take this incident on the train the day before yesterday, the train is a  daily source of fury as it's like being let into a museum of people displaying openly their natural selfishness and insularity. Someone texted the metro yesterday saying 'no i won't give you my seat, i paid for it, you're pregnant not ill.' and that was a WOMAN!
god i pray she doesn't have children. or any friends.
anyway so i was on the train after work, trying to read but distracted by a woman who was talking on her phone " yeah i'm on my way to Australia NOW, no i gave my key to the neighbour, god i have really screwed everything up, no well all i care about is the radio, so long as that's safe, i have fucked it all up, i have ruined everything, well they have to let me in when i get to brisbane, well i don't know what immigration will do but i am going now" on and so on...
i couldn't see her but i felt sorry for her, i hate it when people think they have ruined their life and i wanted to say 'don't worry!'
a couple of minutes later she started calling to the man across the way "excuse me, can you help me? help me please!"
-this man incidentally had also been distracting me as he had the singular most chesty cough i had ever heard in my life, he was talking also an dhis voice was so husky he sounded like he was literally about to die of emphysema, it was hurting my lungs to hear him
he heard her pleas, 'yes, what is it?' " excuse meee, i have dropped my i pod, i can't see it anywhere, i've looked everywhere"
-i must interject that she HADN'T looked everywhere, she hadn't moved at all.
"oh right, um, did you look in your bag?' he said pointing to her bag on the floor
"yeees, yes" she said impatiently "can you help me"
the rasping man arose, he was in his 60's i'd say and at this point i presumed that to ask HIM she must be very elderly and/or disabled in some way, why else would you ask this clearly breathless grey haired man to do such a thing? He got slowly onto his knees and ran his hands around on the dirty train floor, the woman still didn't move" i can't see it!" this went on for a few minutes till he hauled himself up, apologised profusely and sat back down.
SUDDENLY the woman SPRANG to her able-feet, she was about 45 at the most, wearing hiking boots, perfectly fit and healthy! I shook my head in total astonishment, 2 seconds later she turned to him, having bent over and looked about "it was in my bag!hahaha!" she laughed. "oh right, ok" said the man, probably 2 years closer to death.

I felt like i needed to get up and talk to them both: now look, what just happened there?why are you behaving like this? and you, what's wrong with you, she's younger than you, tell her off! ask her if she's mad? at least say 'i told you it was in your bag you LAZY ABLE-BODIED MADWOMAN! i presumed you had a disability i couldn't see! why were you saying help help like someone out at sea?! And while we're at it, what's going on with this Australia thing? why do you need to just keep a radio? what's so good about it? you've got an i pod even, that's better already?! was this a trick? did you rob him while he looked? it can be the only explanation!! i HATEEEEE YOUUUUUUU!!!!!!!!!!!!

but i didn't of course. i just added it to my general annoyance black cloud and turned my attention back to the incredibly annoying women at my table talking about vegetarianism and carried on arguing with them in my head.

2011

2011 sounds like the future...
I still can't get over it not being the 90's...

made some new year's resolutions then decided that was a bad idea as i am just setting myself up for a fall if i do that. decided to get fit and healthy mostly, as i still miss my bike so desperately, Simon bought me 'Just Dance' for Christmas which has become my idea of a get-fit routine. I am also desperate to start swimming but can't do that till I get paid, this month's been expensive!
Went to Portmeirion which was a really really amazing way to start the year actually, although it was a glimpse into a lifestyle that I will never have, and some people have all the time, and I tell you, I could get u-u-hu-hoooseed to it! 3 course dinners, different wine with each course, aperitif of kir royale, the kind of food you eat slowly, cause you want to taste it carefully and make it last, not like the food you have at home that you insert into the back of your throat quickly cause you're hungry and you've tasted it a million times before (you bloody cooked it) NOT cooking, that's sweet in itself... I am desperate to go back already, if i had a full-time wage i would go twice or 3 times a year... it is the perfect relax!

celebrated my return to the normal world by getting very pissed. have realised quite bluntly that i mustn't drink that much on my medication...not sensible as it is a nerve-slowing pill so shit loads of alcohol goes pretty badly with it...
Back in wakey now, moved back into the studio which is SWEET, but fricking weird and the walls are all blank...doing some peripheral life-searching soul searching what shall i do where is my life going how can i make it so i just have some money for once! which keeps slipping forward and making me go 'ooohhh gooooooddddd!!!!!heeellppppp!!' but i feel lots better today for the realisation that things won't just change and also that really i have it ok, so i am perpetually poor and i can't buy anything or do anything or go anywhere, but on the bright side, i am buying sewing patterns off ebay for 99p and i am going to make my own clothes, and also the longer life goes on this poorly the more i am not particularly interested in  a lot of material stuff. it's just holidays that are the hard bit to live without...

anyway. i am off, actually got loads to say about exciting stuff but it'll have to wait as i am off on a jaunt.
SImon bought a massive new telly and blu ray so we've been watching lots of films etc. Attenborough in flatscreen is AMAZING!!!! :) that's what makes me happy. when you despair of life watch an attenborough. fact. i've been there. ps although don't watch the bit where this hideous creature called a yaya or something uses his freakishly long finger to scrape insects out of a tree and eat them. it's rank.

christmas time

my phone is repeatedly freezing too cold to work. It first happened on a day a few weeks ago when i got snowed on to the max, now i have to sit on it or leave it on the radiator for ages, it's getting pretty annoying...
to be fair, a contingent of the buttons are stuck on with blu tac.  i moved my contract to the shittest one there is basically, then about 2 days later my phone broke and i had lost all my perks from being a customer for about ten years and was on the shitheap with all the other £10 per month shitmunchers so now i have to BUY  a phone which i have never needed to cause of upgrades so that's never going to happen, i'll never afford one as nice as the one i have (had it 4 years nearly) so that's the beef.

So here's the big question, anyone get an email THIS cheery into their work inbox today:

Wishing you a merry xmas and best wishes for 2011.
Grief Kit and Terminal Illness products
Just to let you know that we currently have an offer on our grief kit. For more information, please contact me.

nope, didn't think so! certainly warmed my cockles this morning, wishing you a merry christmas and a great year despite/full of terminal illness and mostly grief :)
what does a grief kit consist of you wonder? tissues? bit obvious. phil collins album? brandy?i imagine it in  a box like a first aid box... emergency grief kit valium and 'fuck off and leave me alone i'm grieving' t-shirt within.

my 2 month battle with the council to get paid has finally finished. from nowhere after all the crazy stories i was suddenly paid. not sure what to do with myself now...i mean, i am owed other money but that chase hasn't taken off yet... maybe in the New Year...who knows...

Been assessing the train sitch, doesn't look great for my dash back to Cambridge on Xmas eve... everything has gone serious tits up today and i do have 'planes trains and automobiles' fears inside me of hitchhiking and sleeping in a train and spending Christmas day having ribena and flapjack from trolley for dinner and we'd all cheer each other along and remember it laughingly in a few years but staring the idea in the face i can't think of anything more depressing.

Where the page was uploading disruptions and trying to say 'amending  updates' or something it crashed on my computer and just said "Amen" which was pretty fitting really.

not much else to report. very excited about xmas as always. the bunnies are staying with mum and dad and have moved into my BED which is very cheeky of them and not sure whether they are going to like me and chloe descending on it! Flat is seriously weird without them! I miss them!!! i miss their indifferent looks! dad is so bunny-centric now i don't know what he's up to, will probably be making bunny christmas dinner (FOR them, not with).

saw Frankie Boyle's poster for his new live dvd, 'if i could reach through the tv and strangle you i would' that is really what it's called!!!! it's like something off The Day Today!! It's so Nathan Barley it's almost unreal, real comedy has become a total parody of itself!
What an arsehole he is! he'll be so embarrassed one day when he wakes up from this dazed fame trip he is on, seriously, he's showing up how thick his audiences are by trying to be all offensive and over their head and shocking, but then doing it so far it goes back on him and just makes him look like a desperate wanker! his offensive gag's are not even worth being offended about, it'd be great if everyone just didn't care, or mention it it'd be the only thing that would truly upset him, there's a mitchell and webb sketch which is like watercolour challenge that totally reminds me of this WATCH IT .
anyway, def not worth the comedy debate that's going on, is it offensive;yes of course, that is its intention. is it funny; no because it is to no purpose, there is no context or build up or intelligent thought there.

anyway crew faces. my hands are freezing on the keyboard, try and catch you pre-xmas otherwise have a real sweet one. remember, eat the choc orange before breakfast, it sets you up for the day's fighting and makes sure no one gets their's confused with yours.

call me elf

ey up freakazoids, my mouth is watering loads at the anticipation of heading off the to German market after work for potato cakes! they are real delish...
lally staying this week, starting to feel christmassy, got the little tree branches wedged into a pot up, got the advent candle on the go, yup, preeety christmassy all round...
still endlessly frustrated as i chase people for money they owe me, really holding everything up and adding to the stress of december. This is what I hate about email, it's so easy for people to fob you off loads and disappear, they can ignnore you for ages and never face your furious screaming face, sure i would have been paid months ago if the girl dealing with me had had to see my fury head on...

my serious curse with keys continues as the key to my studio has broken in the lock... starting to wonder if i have a uri geller style melting metal fingers syndrome? probably...

heading back to cambridge on friday for an appointment in addenbrookes oral surgery dept as my 3rd wisdom is forcing a contingent of my teeth from my mouth which is very annoying and I bloody wish they had taken them all out in the first place... i hate the tooth app. the most as you have to put this HUGE plastic plate vertically into your mouth for the xray for ages and ages all over your gob and it really really kills, they always go 'oh you have a tiny mouth' so why don't they have different sized ones? i am not the tiny-mouthed girl of east anglia, there must be more like me? children for example? something pointing into the soft flesh in yuor mouth (got that sounds disgusting, shut up Joe!) is one of the most painful things, when you get an injection in the roof of your mouth it hurts loads longer than the tooth that's been pulled...well, the flesh it's been pulled from, the tooth doesn't hurt obviously...

anyway, going to a party on sat in the flying pig, the whole pub hired which'll be an experience! the theme is 'when i was little i wanted to be...' i wanted to be an illustrator, but a successful one obviously, so really i should go as myself only happier, better dressed and richer, but that is too depressing so i am going as one of the myriad of people who i wanted to be when i was little, although i decided against Nigel Kennedy much to my sadness, as that would have been pretty great...

Chloe's bunny Dotty had an operation last week so much of the weekend gone was spent worry about her and having a lovely lazy cambrdge weekend with my new ROSEANNE box set!!! :) which is BETTER than i remember and i was well scared it'd have aged awfully!

also mum's b'day on sat so there'll be much merrymaking i am sure. Leeds and wakey are meant to have heavy snow this weekend, hope i can get back to the bridge ok on xmas eve... not sure how busy the library will  be (i AM sure, it will be empty.that was sarcasm).

okey dokey that's that, sad not to be doing much christmassy stuff out and about, really want to see my old friends so i hope that can happen at some point.
Off to Wales first week jan to Portmeirion like a French Duke :) very very happy about that, i always prefer to go away after new year as that's when the slump hits and you start staring into space and dribbling and going 'wwwhhhhhhhhyyyyy?' or is that just me? don't lie, you do it too.

hello fans

ow do?

can't believe i haven't bothered writing the blog, there's been so much to write and i am always thinking of new stuff...especially since....................the SNOW!! da  da daaaaaaaa!

since the snow started last monday i have:been thrown out of a taxi and shouted at for being a timewaster :)
had a fight with a bus driver cause i banged the door so he'd let me on-he was a coccckk
experimented with 3 pairs of boots for grip (not at the same time)
eaten 2 life-giving stews including the best meal i have ever made.
been stranded 5 miles from Leeds and had to walk back
made a lot of jokes (kind-of) on this walk about dying in the snow-to people i didn't really know
worn 2 pairs of trousers and still been cold (that's a new one one me)
cleaned the ice out of the INSIDE of simon's car (also new)
seen an igloo (someone built a really good one near my house)
had potato cakes at the German market-nicest things i've ever eaten
stopped caring what i look like as long as i am warm :)
become Northern-ist and tasty at the bias of the news coverage of the snow
looked after the bunnies more than EVER as if that were possible!
done xmas origami wrong, i can't do origami
created a christmas tree from offcuts as a proper one was too expensive (it's brilliant too!!)
spent about 20 hours either on transport or waiting for it.
been having very cosy evenings
become a hermit crab
missed 1 day of work after a 4 1/2 hr trip home last weds
discovered the amazingness of 'Farmfoods' frozen shop!!
not been to the supermarket ONCE
been laughing about the fact that the private school kids stopped school when it snowed, even though their parents block the road every day with off-road 4x4's-!! pointlessness confirmed.
totally lost the magic feeling associated with snow and become fricking fed up with the fucking stuff.

only thing worse-now it's 2 inch ice.

So, I watched that brilliant panda doc last night, anyone else? how can an animal BE that cute?they said that cuteness is directly related to have a small willy, and also makes it harder for you to survive!
the sexy bits were a bit horrid, seems degrading to this amazing animal that it's being filmed unconscious having its sperm removed...:( it didn't mind though really i don't think... what they are doing there is really amazing...they have to do it like that cause they want to stop inbreeding...maaybe they should have done that with the royal family, darted them and rolled them over on film and extracted semen, i'm going to be sick why did i try and do some obvious satire there...!i am a twat!

well, i am meant to be heading home at 2pm on xmas eve, although today's weather says it's going to be impossible to travel, we'll see... may have to go to burton with simon!

frantically looking for jobs and feeling the need to actually get a career or something, being nearly 30.
anyone sees anything let me know!!

plants

once again all my plants are dying in front of my eyes, i always notice a few leaves on the ground and suddenly every time the door closes 40 leaves fall off in one go :( i feel like i have failed the poor things, reminds me of a terrible situation involving my old fish which i can't bear  to recount as it is literally still too painful.

well, me and simon have last night completed our annual Leeds Film Festival frenzy, 5 films last year, up on last year, down on the year before.
It is getting noticeably busier and also more jazzy, one of the venues was the town hall this year, last year we watched one on a telly in the leeds met classroom in the carriageworks.
saw a seriously great batch this year, quick run through:

Kawasaki's Rose- (went to see this as the director made 'Divided we fall' which is one of my favourite films off all time and MUST be seen by all.compulsory) This was about the continuing fall out from communism in Czechoslovakia, set in Czech republic. There's lots of films about this stuff now, as more and more truth emerges about what really went on.
The premise of this is that a woman's angry husband decides to investigate the real past of her 'hero' father who is lauded for helping people escape Czechslovakia . Unfortunately the character of the husband was utterly unbelievable, he's like a cartoon baddie, but otherwise this was absolutely excellent.

'A Taste of Tea' was a Japanese film we saw, not a new one but one back having been popular at a previous festival. This was totally mad and absolutely brilliant. i loved it. It follows a family in Japan who all live their different lives each with their own problem, beautiful Japanese countryside and house and tea makes you desperate to live there. The little girl is so bloody adorable that it's unbelievable, also comes complete with mad grandpa, which always swings it for me.

'A town called panic' is the one i would tell you all to get as it is on dvd and easy to get and is totally enjoyable, it's an animation made with models, a cowboy, a horse and an indian live in a little village, there is a brilliant farmer called 'stephen' who really steals the show by only being able to shout.
anyway, just watch it, you won't regret it i guarantee. total suspension of reality guaranteed (what more could you want?)

'Elling' was my runaway favourite. This film was basically faultless, the characters were totally absorbing and sympathetic, i absolutely loved it and was actively enjoying it all the way through which is weird as i nearly always get a 'it must be near the end' gaze at some point.
Anyway, it is about 2 men who share a room in a mental facility, the film opens with them being given their own government-funded flat to make it alone. it is beautiful and hilariously funny as well.

finally, last night, the rudest of them, 'Zonad'  went to see this as it's an Irish comedy and I know that i bloody love that bleeding irish humour.
a family in a tiny village in Ireland come home to find an alien in their house and take him in totally naively, very funny and rude, definitely taking that one home for Christmas viewing with the family.

TODAY'S ZOO BORNS:

look at those sea horses!! dontcha just love them??
sorry for this boring review based blog, i am too hungry to concentrate and the rabbits are bounding about in confusion as i have cleaned up all their shit which totally throws them-don't worry there's more where that came from...

anyhoo catcha later

Tuesday, 9 November 2010

hey hey

it's Tuesday, formerly known as Booze-day in the days of carefree student loans.

today i will introduce you to Zooborns, my new interest at work, as i get older and my teeth and brain get softer.
http://www.zooborns.com/
otters are the sweetest by far! although simon prefers the chimps, i can't like chimps because i know their trick (face removal) and will never recover from seeing this trick on Davey Att'brough.

here you can see teeny baby animals which is very fun, and some are gross which is even better.
this is what i do now because i have lost my 'edge' if i ever had one and have become decrepit.

been going to the leeds film fest, seen 2 so far, Kawasaki's Rose and A Taste of Tea ( during which someone turned the subtitles off and I got all edgy and said to Simon that i was going to tell someone, which he forbade, everyone sat like lemons then they came on 2 minutes later with the projector person simultaneeously skipping a whole scene-there was a round of applause fot that incident! i was furious!!!)
got one tonight that looks brill, 'a town called panic' which is an animation and we're seeing it at the town hall which is sweet.

anyways, the rabbits are becoming tamer by the day and follow me around now, literally between my feet and often into the bathroom which is pretty weird when you're trying to have a wee and are being stared at by a tiny grey furry piglet faced creature with an indignant expression...and i'm not just talking about Simon hahaha!!

working xmas eve and NYeve as well which seems mental as we will no doubt be utterly quiet the whole time...anyway, get first week Jan off which is more important as that's when things get really depressing...

off to cam this weekend to see the dentist, can't find one here so really don't see point of changing, I'm still NHS in cambridge, that ain't gonna happen again!! worried they may want my other 2 wisdom teeth out which'll be  a pain in the chops, literally, most pain i have ever experienced is the infection after my wisdom teeth coming out, genuinely.

Moved into a new studio in leeds, it's very basic but i think it'll do for a while, major downside is it;s in a very run down area and now it's getting dark i am not over the moon about walking to and from it, but anyway, like i say, it'll be ok for now i hope.

anyway better go, i started this too late, will be back soon!!
look at this bunny!!!

simon says it's not even sweet!! LOOK AT ITS HANDS!!!! it couldn't BE any sweeter!
tomorrow...UGLY animals!!

look at this

I found online:

"The night has been celebrated for over 10 years in the ocean community of Westerly in the state of Rhode Island, U.S.A." "The night is begun with a musical comedy based on the events of Guy Fawkes' capture, written in the style of an English Monty Python comedy sketch." "Every year, it is slightly rewritten by a dedicated team of locals who also provide the acting and musical arrangements which include Beatles and Rolling Stones covers." "Finally, the night is rounded out with a Guy Fawkes bonfire, weather permitting." "The event is always held on the beach, and in the fall the New England coastline is a bit windy and cold so the event is always different depending greatly on the weather and the number of people in the audience." www.guyfawkesusa.com is the website to the event, held each October (due to weather) and directed by Caswell Cooke.

it's about a guy fawkes celebration in USA, can you BELIEVE it?! a monty python type musical (so awful it's making me cringe-it gets worse) with the MUSIC of the beatles and rolling stones??!! you couldn't make it up?!
i'm looking at the website....

yep, look at this...

BUcky walsh as the Archbishop of caNterbury!!! and "Z" Leach as the KING! there's also a Duke of Earl. Last years show featured Paint it Black and Norweigan wood during the trial.

you can watch the video of it on the website, and yes, they are doing it in iiiinnnggeelllliiiissh accents!
and they have it in October, and all Americans call these things english holidays but of course they never are holidays here, the costumes are interesting too, in all the pictures on the slideshow there is one person in a kilt, medieval maidens and swords and someone in a 19th century vicar's frock coat and someone else as a Napoleonic admiral...!!

it's quite sweet actually, sweet aaahhh not sweet sweeet, they all look freezing! except the accents. oh and the only bit i saw is just a bit from Holy Grail.

we went to york today and on a Guy Fawkes night walk, i am sorry to say that the walk was pretty rubbish, the guy was late and really just drove home the same point again and again for 2 hours with very little information at all... mostly he was concerned about the 'guy fawkes pub' and what a bunch of bastards he thought they were... we like the guy fawkes pub, we always go there! live the myth i say!!

anyway, it'scold, there's endless fireworks, i can't find a coat i like anywhere. bloody winter.

catch you in the week.

tuesday

well, lots has been happening in my little world lately...

most significantly, the studios are closing which has left me slightly in limbo as to what to do. i need to get a creepy storage facility for all the stuff that i have deliberately hoarded due to having a massive studio...

we had the last ever art walk there last week which was very weird and a bit sad, everyone got a tad pissed due to there being a beer pump there for charity... i witnessed two large bearded men fall on their backs taking a picnic bench with them...

i am not sure what i will do now...it ranges from nothing to something mental. it'll probably be nothing...

i gave blood yesterday for the first time. it was very easy actually giving it, i have extremely fast pumping blood and it took 6 minutes instead of 15, a couple of the nurses were standing around my blood bag cheering me on as a squeezed my hand and pumped the blood from my body, very surreal!
i sat next to the vast array of treats that you are given after and i must confess, despite trying to be really hard, i did have a sudden funny turn and stagger over to the nurse and lie down for 5 minutes, i was overcome with the feeling that i was going to be sick and faint and i couldn't decide which. I was fine after that, although the walk home took it out of me...
speaking to mum after, who's a blood donor PRO, she revealed that her blood is now 4 minutes!! that's the time to beat! she also said that in cambridge it's just digestives afterwards!! in leeds we had soup, crisps, chocolate, yoghurt coated things, squash, everything! you could easily have lunch there!!

shit, i just poured water all over my top by mistake while attempting to drink from a bottle. and i'm wearing a white top. bollocks.

i am doing a workshop at the museum on saturday for the big draw, i am slightly apprehensive but also looking forward to it, i just hope that people come, there's been no advertising whatsoever as far as i can see...who knows...

can't believe winter is closing in already...at least things are better than this time last year, working in waterstones, it feels like it never happened now! oh, but it did, it did!

reading 'The Audacity of Hype' by Armando Iannucci, my god, is extremely funny and has me laughing out loud on the way to work, some of his 'ways things could possible get worse for gordon brown' (this is before the election mind):

3) a decimal point has been in the wrong place at the Treasury for the past  twenty-three years and we're actually a third-world economy

5) Jack Straw is spotted lying drunk and dace down in a wedding cake at a reception to which he was not invited

11) David Miliband once had a pet hamster called 'Little Allah'

anyways, see you thurs, will have interesting and important information then. probably.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME
